Midnight Workshop at Parsons

While working on my wearable garment prototypes, I gave a short tutorial for sewing for Terricka and Jasmine. It is finals week and both girls needed to sew their projects quickly. We reviewed how to thread in a bobbin, rapid pattern making, and construction techniques to stitch their fabrics. Jasmine had a stretchable tan fabric that was difficult to stitch, whereas, Terricka faced the difficulty of stitching a thicker fabric to construct a hat. Both girls are already skilled in physical computing, so I am looking forward to seeing how they integrate garments with electronics. I hope they enjoyed the quick jam session as much as I did, and learned something in the process.
